Introduction Welcome to Sakay Tablas ("we," "our," or "us"). We operate the Sakay Tablas ride-hailing and transportation platform on Tablas Island, Romblon, Philippines. This Privacy Policy details what information we collect, how we use and protect it, and your options regarding your data when using the Sakay Tablas mobile application, Progressive Web App (PWA), and website. ## 2\. Information We Collect We collect only the information necessary to facilitate safe, reliable island transportation: - **Account & Profile Data:** Full name, phone number, email address, profile photos, and encrypted login credentials. - **Driver Verification Documents:** Driver's licenses, vehicle registration certificates (OR/CR), franchise/permit documentation, and vehicle photos submitted during onboarding. - **Trip & Transaction Information:** Pickup and drop-off coordinates, negotiated fare amounts, trip status, timestamps, and payment method selections (e.g., Cash, GCash). - **Device & Technical Data:** Device hardware model, operating system version, IP address, push notification tokens, and crash diagnostics to troubleshoot bugs and improve app stability. ## 3\. Location Data & Background Tracking Disclosure Because Sakay Tablas is a live transportation dispatch platform, precise location data (GPS) is fundamental to its core operation: - **For Passengers:** We collect precise foreground location when you open the app to identify nearby drivers, autofill pickup coordinates, and display active trip routes. Location access ends when you close the app or complete the trip. - **For Drivers (Foreground & Background Location):** - When marked as **"Online"**, the app collects precise foreground and background location data even when the screen is locked, minimized, or when using another navigation app. - **Purpose:** This enables the system to compute accurate pickup distances, match you with passenger ride requests nearby, and allow the passenger to track your arrival in real time. - Location tracking ceases immediately when you toggle your status to **"Offline"** or close the driver session. Location data is never shared with third-party advertisers. - **At Sign-Up (Passengers & Drivers):** When you create an account we record the approximate area of the network you registered from (city, province and country, derived from your IP address) and your device's GPS position at that moment. Because Sakay Tablas only operates in Romblon province, location access is required to register, and registrations from outside Romblon are declined. This information is visible only to Sakay Tablas administrators and is used to prevent fake, spam and duplicate registrations. ## 4\. How We Use Your Information We process your data strictly to: - Authenticate and manage user accounts. - Match passengers and drivers via our real-time bidding and booking system. - Provide live GPS mapping, turn-by-turn routing, and estimated fares. - Send important service notifications (trip acceptances, driver arrivals, safety alerts). - Prevent fraud, verify driver legitimacy, and resolve customer support disputes. ## 5\. Third-Party Service Providers We do not sell your personal data. We share necessary operational data only with trusted infrastructure providers in accordance with strict confidentiality standards: - **Supabase:** Secure cloud database hosting, user authentication, and data encryption. - **Google Maps Platform:** Geocoding, map rendering, route calculation, and reverse geocoding. - **Browser push services (such as Google, Apple and Mozilla):** Delivery of push notifications and service alerts to devices where you have enabled them. ## 6\. Information Shared Between Users To fulfill trip bookings, limited data is shared between participants: - When a ride is booked, the driver sees the passenger's first name, pickup location, destination, and offered fare. - The passenger sees the driver's name, profile photo, vehicle type, plate number, and live vehicle location. - Phone numbers or contact details are only disclosed when necessary to coordinate pickup. ## 7\. Children's Privacy Sakay Tablas is intended for general audiences aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 18 without parental or guardian supervision).
